These songs every kid who grew up in the 80's in Canada should remember. Personally, I find that I remember the theme songs more than I remember the actual shows... I guess that's not too uncommon - the brain seems to have an unbelievable propensity for storing musical information. Some of these songs I had not heard in 20 years, yet I could remember all of the music and many of the lyrics. This also happens when I listen to a CD I haven't heard in 10+ years and am able to sing along to it... wild!
The first show in our trip down memory lane is The Friendly Giant. The Friendly giant was this dude who lived in a castle, and there were puppets. That's all I remember. The theme song is actually a famous song I believe, that I think might have been used for a "beef" commercial, but to me it will forever be the Friendly Giant theme song.

Fables-of-the-Green-Forest was a cartoon about animals living in a forest. Back in Canada my brother, sisters, and I would watch this one almost every night before dinner. At least I think so. I'm pretty sure we were late for dinner many a night due to this show. I actually have an episode of this on tape -- here are a couple of scans of the box. I got this for $2 off a Blockbuster a couple years back with several other old cartoons.
Jeremy - man, we were crazy for this show -- turns out a lot of kids must have been, as this was actually a Polish show (iI believe) that aired in many countries including France and England (under different names). I *know* this show made us late for dinner all the time.
Polka-Dot-Door - not a very good picture, but I totally remember these two guys! The Polka Dot Door was a classic kids show... a true classic.
Simon-In-The-Land-of-Chalk-Drawings - Simon used to that would come to life. This was a cartoon show that I believe was part of another show.
Todays-Special - I don't think I ever really liked this show but my siblings did. I was probably too old and cool.
Edison-Twins - I'm not sure I like this one either, for the same reason.
Parlez-Moi - I don't remember anything about this show, but the sound I remember and this cap I found is *totally* familiar.
Readalong - Another one I don't remember too well, but sure remember the song and these characters.
Write-On - Right-on! This one was apparently a 5 min short, but like the above has stuck in my mind.
